Transportation Help Needed

DYS is working with a 17 year old female and her family. The 17 year old needs to be in St Louis as a witness for a court case September 13th and has a subpoena to appear. The family just relocated to Jefferson City and has limited resources. They do not have enough gas to make the trip to St Louis for the court appearance. We are looking for community resources to either provide transportation to St Louis or to provide gas money for the trip. The family plans to leave Sunday evening the 12th due to the early court time so any gas donation could be made then. Family Needs Two Beds

DYS is working with a family who recently relocated to the area from St. Louis. They have nothing in the way of furniture. We have directed them to resources in the community for other needs and our agency is providing clothing and hygiene products for the adolescent in the home. At this time, their biggest need is two beds of any kind. They are currently sleeping on the floor, using clothing as a cushion of sorts. Emergency Need for play pen

I have a family I met recently that has moved to Jefferson City with 3 children two of which are 1 and 3 years old. The 1 year old was observed on Bus. 50 West in Apache Flats next to the road. The child could have been fatally injured but was not. The family has minimal income and supports in Jefferson City since moving to the area and is in need of a playpen to ensure that the 1 year old doesn’t get out into the busy road again while outside or keep the child within the home in safe areas. If you can meet this immediate need please contact myself, Dena Driver with the Children’s Division, at my work number (573)-522-5062 to provide the playpen to the mother. The mother really needs this and I will feel a lot better knowing that she has one. The mother felt that she could better supervise her children if she had a play pen. I was the individual that stopped in the middle of the road almost getting myself and daughter hurt trying to get this baby out of the road!!!! Thank you for your prompt attention to this immediate need.

Transportation Need

A teenage girl in foster care is struggling with transportation issues. She lives too close to JCHS to qualify for free bus transportation, so she would have to pay $90/semester to ride the bus. Her worker has talked to the school transportation director and several others in the community to try to find some help, but has not had any help. Beds for children, linens, diapers, and more

A mother of 3 has relapsed and to avoid her 3 young children being placed in foster care the grandmother has 30 days to find beds for the children. This grandmother is in need of 3 twin beds or a combination of a toddler bed and 2 twin beds or a baby bed (crib) with 2 twin beds. They also are in need of sheets, pillows and blankets for the beds, size 3 and/or size 4 diapers, wipes, three car seats, towels and wash clothes.
