How This Works
Here’s a brief primer on how you can subscribe to The Provide Network and get started on helping to meet the needs of individuals and families in the greater Jefferson City area.
First - (Subscribe By Email)
- Enter your email address in the box to the right and click on the Subscribe button. You’ll then receive an email in your Inbox.
- - Open that email and inside it you’ll find a link to verify your email address. The reason we subscribe people this way is to prevent spammers, internet bots, and other robotic programs from subscribing bogus emails in the network.
- - Once you’ve clicked on the verification link, your email is now registered and you’ll begin receiving a daily digest email that lists all the needs that have been published to the network in the last 24 hours.
OR - (Subscribe By RSS)
- If you just read RSS and it sounded like greek - you can read about RSS (Real Simple Syndication) by clicking here.. or you can watch this YouTube video which will explain it as well.
- - You’ll notice (if you are familiar with RSS) that we have allowed you to subscribe to individual categories. What that means is that if you know how to fix cars, but don’t know anything about car seats, then you can subscribe to the “auto repair” category and the only items you’ll receive in your RSS reader will be needs that fall under “auto repair” …the beauty of doing this is that it allows people to focus on just a few areas of need that they can help with without being overwhelmed by trying to wade through all the needs in every category.
