I have a family I met recently that has moved to Jefferson City with 3 children two of which are 1 and 3 years old. The 1 year old was observed on Bus. 50 West in Apache Flats next to the road. The child could have been fatally injured but was not. The family has minimal income and supports in Jefferson City since moving to the area and is in need of a playpen to ensure that the 1 year old doesn’t get out into the busy road again while outside or keep the child within the home in safe areas. If you can meet this immediate need please contact myself, Dena Driver with the Children’s Division, at my work number (573)-522-5062 to provide the playpen to the mother. The mother really needs this and I will feel a lot better knowing that she has one. The mother felt that she could better supervise her children if she had a play pen. I was the individual that stopped in the middle of the road almost getting myself and daughter hurt trying to get this baby out of the road!!!!
